Miss Super of the World 2006
Miss Super of the World 2006 Maydelise crowned her with a tiara worth 120,000 U.S. dollars. Her prize package included cash, a year contract promoting Miss Super, world travel, a rent-free, prestigious New York City flat, luxury apartment and a gift bag stuffed with designer shoes, dresses and beauty products, a $100,000 stipend for a 2-year course at the New York FilmAcademy and free access to famous fashion houses and beauty parlors. Maydelise will spend her year-long reign traveling the world to lecture on humanitarian issues and to promote education regarding HIV/AIDS.
Although the selection of a Beauty Queen is thought to be an annual event, there are no hard and fast rules as to the frequency of selection. Pageants have also changed dates and frequency based upon the needs of the Organization. Take for instance, Miss Super. For decades, Miss Super was held during the fall with the pageant usually occurring in September.
